What to expect
Deciding upon the procedure requires you to be aware of what is expected of you, and what you should be expecting during and after the procedure. Although it is a day surgery, it is best that you are accompanied with someone while you go back. You can positively return back home on the same day of surgery. The procedure will take around one hour or so and you will be conscious throughout to be able to talk or understand what is going on. Do not worry about pain because you will be given local anaesthesia to numb the area. To insert the implants, the incision is made either on the skin that is pigmented (around the nipple) on in the armpit. It can also be below the breast crease so as to ensure that the surgery scar is well hidden.
Once the surgery is done, you will be discharged after ensuring that everything is normal and you do not feel any abnormal pain or excessive swelling. You will feel mild pain or some aching sensation for a few days after. However, you will be fit to go back to work after one or two days of your surgery. The bruising around the area will go away in a few days as well.
There is no major restriction except for being careful about heavy exercise for 6 weeks after the surgery. You must wear a supportive bra, about which your doctor will advise prior to discharging you form clinic. It is fine to continue with routine normal exercise as long as you wear that supportive bra. However, do not go for rigorous exercises.
